I didn’t start Credencia because I fancied being a ‘recruitment entrepreneur.’ I started it because I’d spent 16 years at one of the UK’s leading wealth management firms, helping grow it from roughly £1bn to £19bn in assets under management, and I could see that the way most recruiters serve this industry simply wasn’t good enough.

Too many recruiters treat wealth management like any other financial services niche. They don’t understand the regulatory landscape, the pace at which front office professionals actually move, or why culture matters more in this sector than almost any other. They send CVs and hope for the best.

I wanted to do it differently. Credencia works with a small number of firms. Selectively. Because that’s the only way to genuinely understand what each client needs. I’m not trying to be the biggest recruiter in wealth management. I’m trying to be the one that firm leaders actually trust.

What I believe

The best wealth management firms are the ones where client outcomes come first. Genuinely. And not just on the website. They tend to be founder-led or independently minded. They invest in their people. They think in decades, not quarters.

Those are the firms I want to work with, and they’re the firms I want to send the best candidates to. Recruitment should improve the profession, not just fill vacancies.

Why the Name

Credencia comes from the Latin credentia — trust, belief, credentials. It captures everything this business is built on: the trust clients place in me to represent their firm, the trust candidates place in me to guide their career, and the credibility that only comes from genuinely knowing the sector you serve.
